The primary league that Bournemouth AC enters is the Dorset Road Running League which takes place throughout the whole year. In addition there are many other local, national and international races in which the members participate, including marathons.
To improve your fitness, train for a specific distance or set those PBs rolling, then training with the distance runners at Bournemouth AC could help you achieve those goals. We have a mixture of abilities, junior, senior and veteran runners to guide and encourage athletes along the way.

Bournemouth AC take part in the Dorset Road Race League (RRL). There are 12 races per year over a variety of distances. Expect 6 shortish races (less than 10 miles), 5 races of 10 miles / half marathons and one long race.Where possible the races are spread across the county and the whole year. The men and ladies compete as separate teams. 5 men make up a men's team 3 women make up a ladies team. The overall team scores at the end of the season are based on the best 7 out of 12 races.
There is also a league for individuals based on the same 12 races and again the final positions are based on the best 7 out of the possible 12 races.

Road Running Update (Other Results) - 14 February 2012
Bramley 20 mile (and 10 mile) - 12 February 2012
For the second year running, BAC's team were winners at the Bramley 20 mile race on Sunday 12th February. Congratulations to Ian Habgood, 2nd out of 740 finishers, in a superb time of 1.50.07, Steve Way, 4th in 1.53.33, Jacek Cieluszecki (who had competed in the Hampshire Cross Country League at Salisbury the previous day), 24th in 2.03.45 and Graeme Miller, 55th in 2.10.39. Congratulations also to Janie Chapman who, having achieved a half marathon PB a week ago, again ran a PB in the 10 mile race, finishing 31st (2nd lady) from 466 finishers in 1.05.02.
Meon Valley Plod - 12 February 2012
Having run the previous day at Salisbury in the Hampshire Cross Country League, Andy Gillespie took on the challenge of the Meon Valley Plod, a 21 mile mostly off-road race in Hampshire, on Sunday 12 February. What better than to quote what Andy has to say about the race: "Mostly for the first two hours it was bitterly cold, like most places I suppose, but really hard and icy under foot. They had a bit more snow down that way than we had in Salisbury and it was still present where ever the sun hadn't reached. It did warm up after a while and then became very sticky and slippery. Butser Hill was a nightmare and I had to grip the fence most of the way up. Still, a great run, 21 miles in all in 3.35.05, 102nd out of 255 that finished. I believe there was a fair few that did not. I go on my overall pace to determine if I have done better or worse than previous years, I was 16 seconds per mile quicker than last year, in tougher conditions, so the BAC training is still working!"

Chichester Priory 10k - 5 February 2012
Those who follow BAC on Twitter will know that, last year, the winning team's aggregate time in the Chichester Priory 10k was 97.18; that the BAC team's aggregate time this year, on Sunday 5 February was 96.32; and that, despite what would have been a winning time last year, this year the BAC team was fifth. This is still an excellent result in a quality (and popular, there were 1435 finishers) race which attracts elite athletes from a very wide area. Ian Habgood led the BAC trio home, in 17th place in a PB time of 31.32, in 25th place was Rob McTaggart (32.14), and a few seconds later, 31st, was Jon Sharkey in 32.42.
